  1. Ron,
You and Donna put up a good fight – nobody could have done it better.
She was a wonderful person – we will all miss her.
    Peace and love,
    …Jeff

  2. I’m so sorry, Ron, to read this news…

Donna was indeed a trooper, as were you, and all the friends, family and medical staff with you through this many year journey. May you find solace in knowing you did everything possible to fight this outcome, and in knowing she is at peace.

My deepest sympathies to you and Ryan,
    Deborah

  3. Ron — So sorry for your loss. You truly were her loving caregiver to the very end. She’s finally free of pain and suffering. Here’s a poem that is near and dear to my heart. May you find many pennies of Donna’s angel. I hope you’ll find this poem as comforting as I did when I lost my parents.

    Today I found a penny,
    Just laying on the ground.
But it’s not just a penny,
    This little coin I’ve found.
    …Found pennies come from heaven.
That’s what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you,
    They toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
To make a smile out of your frown.
So don’t pass by that penny
    When you’re feeling blue;
It may be a Penny from Heaven
That an Angel’s tossed to you.
Pass this on to the people who you care
about and who you feel that are angels to you.
An angel is now watching over you.

  4. My girlfriend of 41 yrs. and 3 days.. Such a wonderful friend, Godmother to all 4 of our children and always up for “an adventure”. There will be such a void in my life for the rest of mine.

  5. Dear Ron, I so want to say something wise and meaningful,
and all that comes out is a blubbering that I think you are
the strongest and most thoughtful, caring person I know.
I’m grateful that Donna had you in her life and by her constant side. You two were so meant for each other…much love, Jo

  6. Dear Donna, I can’t begin to tell you how much of a great friend you have always been to me (even when we were fighting over phone bills in St Louis– ha,
Ron was so pissed at me for fighting with you!)
You taught me so much..and especially how to care about good friends. Over the years, most people you know during college days, promise to keep in touch but rarely do. You kept your promise and I could always count on a phone call from you, right when I needed it. You will always be in my heart and never forgotten.
    …much love, Jo

  7. I have so many fond memories of Donna, especially the wonderful Thanksgiving events at your home. It was a blessing to see her once again at the 4th of July party. My deepest condolences, Mike

  8. Ron, you and all her friends and family will be in my prayers. She was such a fighter. I will miss her cheerful smile and just chatting with her, I will never forget the time we strung jute all over your house in Carrollton to make macrame holders! Donna

  9. Dear Ryan, I remember picking you and your mom up at the Denver airport a very long time ago to take you to the mountains so you could go skiing with cousin Mickie.
You were so small and CUTE and a little mischievous at the Denver airport…running away until someone (me) stopped chasing you LOL. And your mom was frantic that you were gonna jump on the baggage conveyor belt (you wouldn’t, would you??) Once we were all loaded into my little Prelude, you sat on your mom’s lap all the way to the top of the mountain, smiling and laughing and entertaining us. I do cherish memories like that
and thought you might want to know that after I left you and your mother and started down the mountain, I opened the moon roof and it gently started to snow. I was filled with awe and a sense of peace and just knew that you and your mom were going to be alright…and you still are.
I’m so happy you have such a wonderful lady Heidi in your life!Much love…Jo

  10. I am so sorry for your loss. We all loved Donna very much! Hopefully she is at peace now. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
